What Makes A Church?

Are Churches Bad Now?

First I’d like to start off by saying if you didn’t know there was a huge cover-up going on for years you’re crazy. Even as a child I recall major signs within the church that there was molestation and corruption and a plot to hide it…Remember when everyone thought Sinead O’ Connor was crazy for tearing up a picture of the Pope on SNL back in 1992. Well I didn’t and I was only 9 years old. I can recall hearing little news snippets or blurbs of corruption in the Vatican and they would just fizzle away.
Anyways I digress….

So where is the outrage, the boycotts, the demolishing of religious figures?
It’s because people don’t worship the Pope. They follow the Christ.
Faith in Christ isn’t found in an old man in a white cape.
Faith isn’t found in a book. No matter how true the words are.
Faith isn’t found in going to church every Sunday. That’s the effects of faith.
Faith can only be felt, individually rooted in you first before any religious figures come to play.

You have to say to yourself, “I don’t know what it is but there is something out there and it is good.” And trust in that. That’s it, basic, simple, no matter what you believe that “something” Christ, God, the Universe... it’s just another name for the same thing.

Are Churches bad now?
If you were caught blind sighted by the events in the Catholic church, lost, angry, ashamed, and questioning your faith keep this in mind.

Churches are part of the community and they do a lot for the people in it. By “they” I’m referring to the volunteers, people who donate their time, belongings, help and generosity to the church. Not to the priests themselves. I’m talking about the everyday people who make the church welcoming and a place to turn to. Those are the real people of faith.

If you were to lose your job a church would take you in, find you a job, and even help with groceries/childcare until you are back on  your feet.
If you become ill, the church community will pray for you, bring you food, and provide care or a fundraiser.
Can’t afford Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner? Most churches put on a dinner (for free or low cost to attend)
Is there a problem you’re facing that’s too big for you to deal with on your own. Churches help.

This isn’t the priest doing the work. It’s the families and people in the community coming together for a good cause in the name of Jesus Christ.

Churches are made up of the people, and the people are good. No priest, Pope, or clergymen, can stop that. Faith lies in the people. They can deface it, soon to be cast out (like all evil) but as for the churches themselves they’re good and there are good people running them who you don’t see.

I’ll leave you with my Facebook post from August 18th, 2018

How I feel about the events in the Catholic Church I think people should keep in mind....
Seems they found a place to hide for decades. I hope people remember they follow Christ and the religion not men who used it for evil. I don’t follow the priests I follow the light.
I know who I follow and it’ll never be a man in a cape who I don’t even know preaching to me. It’s someone who has shown me the way the truth and the light.

Very disturbing but for there to be a new the old must crumble. They’ve been hiding behind a religion for so long. They never should have been there to begin with. Let them get what they deserve and a new day will rise.
